Handling sensitive information is risky. Accounting, legal counselling and insurance are all fields where a lost email can mean losing a lot of money, or worse: can lead to legal consequences. For this challenge Microsoft 365 offers a feature called Journaling to retain a copy of all of your emails regardless whether they were soft or even hard deleted. However, it is not widely known that they do not provide you the possibility to store the journaled emails on the M365 platform. On the contrary, they require you to store them off-site. This is where our email archiving solution, Mailstore comes into play. Our Mailstore archive stores your journaled emails for the amount of time that is required by the compliance guidelines of your company and provides you easy access to them anytime anywhere.

In case your compliance requirements don’t include archiving each and every email that ever touched a mailbox in your company, we can still bring value to the table in the form of M365 backup by Veeam. Microsoft is only responsible for access redundancy but the data on their severs is the responsibility of the customer. If an employee deletes an important email, or a bad actor deletes gets into your M365 tenant and deletes full mailboxes, Veeam for M365 can be your most important line of defense.
